Teaching Assistant Professor

The Department of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure stream) in American Politics with a focus on American Institutions (Presidency, Congress, Judiciary). The appointment requires a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and prior teaching experience. The successful candidate is expected to teach six undergraduate courses per year, including introductory, upper-level, and capstone (senior) courses. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Departmental curriculum, communications, and programming, including outside-the-classroom learning. The starting date for the position is September 1, 2024. Minimum qualifications for the position are a Ph.D. in Political Science. Successful candidates are expected to engage in teaching and service that contributes to the department’s mission.
