The Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh announces a non-tenure track position at the Research Assistant Professor level. The position will be fully funded from federal research grants. We seek individuals with a strong program of research in health neuroscience and those with a demonstrated interest in the study of brain health and health behaviors in the context of longitudinal behavioral and/or lifestyle interventions. For example, experience and interest should align with the following:  

 • Promotion of adherence and compliance in behavioral and/or lifestyle interventions

• Brain structural and functional changes resulting from behavioral interventions

• Cognitive and socioemotional changes resulting from behavioral interventions 

• Moderating or mediating mechanisms underlying the effects of health behaviors, especially diet and physical activity

• Impact of psychological factors on changes in brain health and health behaviors in the context of behavioral interventions

The person filling this position will complement current strengths of the Psychology Department and partnerships with other units of the University of Pittsburgh, which include the Healthy Lifestyle Institute, Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Center for Community Engagement ( https://cec.pitt.edu/homewood/ ).

The interdisciplinary nature of psychological science is reflected by faculty, staff, and student research interests and collaborations and training opportunities. 

Eligible candidates will have a minimum of a Ph.D. in psychology and preferably 2-3 years of post-doctoral clinical trials experience.
