The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center are currently searching to hire a Research Assistant Professor . Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field with the ability to work collaboratively with other scientific investigators. There is strong collaboration with other faculty in cancer data science, bioinformatics, and AI. Candidates will also be required to have the expertise and/or strong interest in the biostatistical design and analysis of early-phase clinical trials, and a solid record of methodological development, as reflected by statistical publications. A focus of the position will be to develop statistical collaborations with researchers within the Center, work on early phase clinical trial design and analysis, pre-clinical experimental designs, and mentor master’s level staff statisticians, as well as biostatistics students. It is important that this new faculty person have an interest in clinical trial work. There will also be an expectation and strong support for statistical methods development that can directly enhance one or more of the Center’s research programs. This includes work with -omics and/or imaging data, dimension reduction, computational statistics, and machine learning methods. Given the dynamic and collaborative research environment as well as novel data being generated at the Hillman Cancer Center, this faculty position provides an excellent opportunity to develop a cutting-edge methods research program and establish important scientific collaborations.
The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a Research Assistant Professor for the Biostatistics Facility, Shared Resource. Candidate with PhD or equivalent in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field with the ability to work collaboratively with other scientific investigators. The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in western Pennsylvania and one of only 56 throughout the entire country. It is funded by a Comprehensive Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) from the National Cancer Institute. The state-of-the-art research environment at Hillman comprises 10 CCSG-supported shared resources to support cutting edge research, as well as pioneering faculty who conduct impactful basic, clinical/translational, and population science research that is changing the way we detect, diagnose, and treat cancer. Hillman Cancer Center also includes 7 research programs: Biobehavioral Cancer Control, Cancer Biology, Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention, Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy, Cancer Therapeutics, Cancer Virology, and Genome Stability.
