Research Assistant Professor
Responsibilities : The Research Assistant Professor will join an NIH-funded laboratory focused on the links between cancer and proteostasis. Research will include studies focusing on the mechanisms underlying the roles of molecular chaperones and autophagy in breast cancer using multiple model systems. The candidate will be expected to perform experiments, analyze data, and participate in the preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant submissions. Acquisition of independent funding is an objective.
Qualifications : Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. in one of the biological sciences and have 3 or more years of postdoctoral experience. At minimum, candidates should have experience in molecular biology, tissue culture, and mouse genetics with a preference for experience in applying these methods to study secretory pathway function, protein degradation pathways, and cellular stress responses. Successful candidates will have a strong publication record, have a history of obtaining independent funding, be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and work productively in an interdisciplinary team.
