The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine (PACCSM) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking NIH scientists, physicians, and physician-scientists at the level of Associate Professor in the Appointment Stream. PACCSM is seeking established investigators with a proven track record in extramural NIH funding and mentoring of junior investigators. Attractive resources are available to establish a vibrant research program. PACCM supports active basic and clinical research programs in asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders, ILD, and ARDS/ALI, and fellowship training at its major teaching hospitals, UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, the Oakland VA Medical Center, and UPMC Shadyside Hospital.


General rank requirements: An associate professor will have a strong experience with an impactful scholarship, a local, regional, and developing national reputation, effectiveness as a teacher, and service. Qualified applicants must have an MD, DO, PhD, or other terminal degree in the field of study and equivalent professional work experience will be considered, and research interest in Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep and Critical Care Medicine. Academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
