Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA), an independent non-profit academic clinical practice group affiliated with George Washington University, is seeking full-time academic Palliative Medicine physicians for the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine in the Department of Medicine, part of our expanding academic practice and clinical programs. Our practice includes a robust inpatient palliative medicine consult service serving a tertiary care hospital, a community-based inpatient hospice unit, and an outpatient supportive and palliative care clinic.
These non-tenure track appointments will be made at a rank (Instructor, Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) commensurate with experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
We are hiring physicians to become collaborative partners in our clinical and education-focused practice, where research is also supported. Leadership opportunities exist for competitive candidates and educational opportunities abound in undergraduate and graduate medical education. Persons with a specific interest in leadership in inpatient palliative medicine are invited to apply.
Overnight telephone and weekend in-person call are required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-certified/eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and licensed in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to meeting the needs of patients across the care continuum, have a record of providing excellent clinical care, have experience training medical students, residents, and fellows, and have an interest in quality improvement or research, as evidenced by experience, publications, evaluations, and/or references.
Advertised Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
