Position Summary
As part of a major, multi-year initiative to expand research activities across the IU Bloomington campus, the Departments of Physics (https://physics.indiana.edu ) and Chemistry (https://chem.indiana.edu ) invite applications for two tenure positions at the Associate or Full Professor rank to begin in the Fall of 2023 (with additional positions expected to be filled in the coming years). We are particularly interested in researchers working in areas of quantum simulation, nanophotonics, quantum sensing, quantum materials, nanomaterials, electrocatalysis, or photocatalysis. Candidates are expected to have an established record of research achievement and external funding. Candidates who conduct research that complements our ongoing activities and contributes to our expansion in these areas are preferred. Ongoing efforts include numerous activities within the interdepartmental Quantum Science and Engineering Center (https://qsec.sitehost.iu.edu ) (including work in quantum simulation, algorithms, chemistry, and sensing) as well as within the two departments on materials and catalysis.
Basic Qualifications
We seek individuals to fill these positions who are committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, or a related field and a substantial record of research accomplishments are required.
