Posting Summary | The Department of Radiation Oncology of the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking board certified or board eligible medical physicist candidates for faculty positions at assistant or associate professor level, depending on experience. Experiences with conformal radiotherapy, 3-D and IMRT treatment planning systems, design and development of computer algorithms, and high dose rate brachytherapy is required. Knowledge of Linac operations and functions, knowledge of various special procedures (external beam and brachytherapy) is also required. Preference of consideration will be given to candidates who have clinical experiences and has completed a CAMPEP accredited residency program. The Department of Radiation Oncology is a strong and growing academic department, which provides almost all types of clinical services in radiation oncology, including a Proton Therapy facility. There is a radiation oncology residency program and a CAMPEP accredited medical physics residency program as well as a CAMPEP accredited medical physics certificate program. The Department provides radiation oncology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospitals at New Brunswick and Somerset, New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton New Jersey, RWJBH Medical Centers at Jersey City and Clara Maass of New Jersey, and University Hospital in Newark New Jersey. |

Minimum Education and Experience | Board eligible candidates must have successfully completed trainings in a medical physics residency program. A Ph.D. in medical physics, physics or related fields is required. Strong communication skills and clinical experiences are the prerequisites for the position. Besides clinical responsibilities, the position will actively contribute to the educational and research programs of the department. Demonstrated ability to work independently is very much desired. |
