Basic Function:

Kent State University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track lecturer/assistant professor faculty position in Speech Pathology August 2024- May 2025.

Examples of Duties:

Responsibilities of the position include:  

  • Provide high-quality instruction in graduate and undergraduate courses 
  • Participate in advising, mentoring and support for students 
  • Collaborate with other faculty in program development and contribute to program excellence 
  • Contribute to ASHA certification maintenance 
  • Coordinate public school student teaching placements 
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications include:   

  • Earned master’s degree from an ASHA accredited program in speech-language pathology or earned PhD in speech-language pathology or related area 
  • Possess (or be eligible) and maintain current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology and Ohio License in speech-language pathology 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience as an SLP 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills  
  • Previous college teaching experience not required but desirable

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
