Position Summary:
At the University of Arizona Global Campus, Full-Time Faculty are discipline experts who provide a positive learning environment in a specific academic program, emphasis, and/or discipline to facilitate and support student success within the College of Arts and Sciences or Forbes School of Business. At UAGC we utilize the term faculty, and they are committed to high quality teaching and learning through ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement.
The full-time technology faculty is primarily responsible for developing, updating, and delivering comprehensive technology courses in a virtual environment, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning experience for students. This role prioritizes cutting-edge research in the field, with findings shared through publications and online conferences. Additionally, the professor offers virtual academic guidance, mentorship, and supports students' career aspirations, all while staying updated with the latest industry trends and maintaining strong ties with technology professionals globally.

Essential Job Duties:
Teaching Responsibilities
Faculty should demonstrate exemplary teaching in their discipline. Teaching includes content delivery, student mentoring and assessment of student learning. All Faculty will carry a teaching load requirement, determined annually. Additionally, Faculty are responsible for:
Demonstrating awareness of and responding to the diverse needs of all students
Displaying a thorough knowledge of both the curriculum and the subject matter
Facilitating instructional materials and providing guidance and feedback to all students
Setting high expectations for student achievement and behavior
Evaluating student performance via established rubrics and policies
Responding to student emails and inquiries in a timely manner
Addressing plagiarism concerns according to university policy
Collaborating with student-facing institutional personnel to enhance the student experience
All Faculty will carry a teaching load requirement, determined annually
Student Success
Implement retention, persistence, graduation, and student success initiatives as guided by college and University leadership.
Contribute to student success through regular interaction with student enrollment and academic advisors.
Support program and emphasis development activities, course development, and assessment
Support college leadership in evaluation of teaching efficacy within college and faculty coaching.
Collaborate with other university departments to ensure a positive experience for all university students.
Service
Contribute to a university-wide or college committees.
Collaborate with college or university teams to develop and implement new initiatives.
Assist with program review (gathering data, writing reports, creating action plans for enhancement).
Represent college in university meetings and forums.
Provide support for accreditation and licensure efforts to ensure courses meets career and discipline goals.
Professional Development and Scholarship:
Engage in faculty scholarship and development activities related to the university’s primary focus as a teaching institution, which may include discovery, integration, application, and/or teaching
Support faculty forums and other professional development activities within the college
Participate in faculty communities of practice and community spaces
Participate in external discipline specific webinars, conferences, and professional communities
Enhance teaching effectiveness skills by attending seminars, webinars, workshops, and classes through both internal and external programming
Other Duties:
Participate in meetings (onsite and virtual) as directed
Maintain regular work hours coordinated with supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced Technical Knowledge and a deep understanding of Information Systems Management, along with a broad awareness of current trends, advancements, and challenges in the wider technology landscape
Proficiency in Online Instructional Tools and Platform: the ability to use and navigate various online teaching platforms, tools, and software, ensuring a seamless and engaging virtual classroom experience. This includes understanding the technicalities of delivering live sessions, recording lectures, managing online assignments, and facilitating virtual discussions
Research and Analytical Skills: Strong capability to design, conduct, and evaluate original research in the technology field. The skill to critically analyze complex data, draw meaningful conclusions, and communicate findings effectively through online mediums
Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Abilities: Effective communication skills to convey complex technological concepts in a clear and understandable manner to a diverse student audience. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, provide mentorship, and collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals in a remote setting
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant disciplines from an accredited institution and minimum 3 years of technology industry leadership and experience within the Information Systems Management field or related computer science disciplines
Professional experience in the management of computing systems, technology project management, and integrating organizational strategies with technology implementation
Work related experience in the area of your Degree
Commitment to teaching in an online environment
Commitment to uphold University’s diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree
Professional experience in the management of computing systems, technology project management, and integrating organizational strategies with technology implementation i.e.(CTO/ C-suite experience)
Experience with analytical programming languages such as Python, PySpark, PyTorch, R, SQL, and Hive
Experience in solutions development & deployment experience in Cloud Platforms e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud platform
Familiar with DevOps practices such as source control, builds, testing, deployments, release management, and monitoring
Experienced in business intelligence and analytics tools BI, Tableau, and other visualization tools
Familiarity or experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning
Experience with teaching and working on the Canvas Learning Platform
Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office applications and Zoom
Ability to work effectively in teams and in a remote environment with minimal supervision
Rate of Pay: $75,000 DOE / annually
