The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking candidates for an appointment stream Research Instructor in the Wen Xie lab.  The candidate’s research should be focused on the role of sulfation in intestinal and liver diseases. The individual will be responsible for the development of novel methodologies focused on protein sulfation and validating the sulfation function in genetic mouse models in vivo, as well as the culture of tissue organoids in vitro, which are involved in many bowel and liver diseases. Candidates with previous experience in studying sulfation are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating multidisciplinary research environment as part of our translational initiatives aimed at understanding the role of sulfation in the prevention and treatment of intestinal and liver diseases.

Candidates must have a background in Veterinary Medicine and hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Developmental Biology and have more than three-year research experience, high-quality publications.
