McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston , a leading academic health center, is seeking a full-time, board-eligible, and/or board-certified fellowship trained in pathology, with a background in health informatics, faculty, within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor. The successful candidate(s) will join a subspecialized pathology service that supports the clinical and academic mission of UTHealth Houston and provides appropriate information to guide patient care. 

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Planning, managing, and directing operations of Digital Pathology Health Informatics clinical / research.
  •  Conducting high-quality research in areas of expertise, with a particular emphasis on healthcare operations and maintenance optimization, and data mining, collection, and analysis; interactive dashboards.
  • Researching and granting application support; publications support.

Qualifications:

 

  • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.).
  • Texas Medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas
  • Completion of Clinical Pathology (CP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) Residency with board certification in CP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Anesthesiology Anesthesiologists (Internists and Hospitalists will also be considered for this position).
  • Full unrestricted Texas medical license.
  • Application for privileges/credentialing at the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center Hospital.
  • Background in applied probability, and statistical analysis of complex data with application to healthcare operations and maintenance optimization.  

 

Preferred:

 

  • Academically oriented board certified (AP or AP/CP) or eligible with fellowship training and experience in Pathology with a subspecialty experience with Molecular Pathology. 
  • Teaching and mentoring experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and skills to build relationships across units and clinical teams

 

Salary and Academic Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
