Holy Names University is seeking experienced instructors to work with our instructional design team to design and develop a new online versions of the following undergraduate courses:

  • PSYC 63: Statistical Methods for Psychology
  • PSYCH 124: Physiological psychology
  • Each of these 3-unit courses is required for all Psychology majors and is taught in a regular 16-week semester in our online Adult Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program.

    The position for each course is a part-time temporary appointment (10-12 hours/week) and runs between January 7, 2020 to May 1, 2020. The selected candidate may work either on campus or remotely. The candidate will be required to meet bi-weekly with an instructional designer.

    Pay for the course development contract is $3,914.35.



    • Applicants should have a minimum of a M.A. in Psychology. PhD is preferred.
    • ABD doctoral candidates will also be considered.
    • Preference will be given to candidate who have previously and successfully taught the specific course(s) being applied for.
    • Experience using assignment, test, and discussion tools in at least one learning management system.
    • High digital literacy and experience with standard digital tools used for teaching and learning (including
    • MS Word, PowerPoint, Office 365 One Drive or Google Drive, email, web browsers, etc.).
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to meet deadlines.


    • Experience teaching and/or designing online or hybrid courses.
    • Experience teaching with Canvas LMS.
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory.
