The Department of Radiology and the Center for Innovation in Imaging Biomarkers and Integrated Diagnostics (CIMBID) seeks candidates for several faculty positions across all ranks, with the option for a tenure-track appointment depending on the candidate’s qualifications and research program trajectory. Expertise is required in the broader area of computational and quantitative imaging biomarkers, including but not limited to modality-specific or multi-modality image acquisition and post-processing (including imaging data acquired on newly developed imaging tools and hardware), biomedical image analysis, imaging data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and multi-modal biomarker integration. Successful candidates will have either clinical training or research experience in biomedical imaging. 

Research or scholarship responsibilities will include the development of an independent and/or collaborative research program on imaging biomarkers and integrated diagnostics. Collaborations will include active partnerships with departments in the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S), such as the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI), the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and applied Sciences, such as the Department of Biomedical Engineering (DBME), the Mailman School of Public Health, the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC), and Columbia University’s Data Science Institute (DSI).  Opportunities for joint appointments in these Departments are available. Teaching/mentoring responsibilities may include instructing and overseeing a multi-disciplinary team medical and graduate students, postdocs, residents, and fellows. The successful faculty will have an opportunity to contribute to the design and leverage a cutting-edge informatics infrastructure for generating, storing, linking, and analyzing large amounts of biomedical imaging data, together with rich electronic healthcare record (EHR), genetic, multi-omics and clinical data within the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and the New-York Presbyterian (NYP) hospital.

The Department of Radiology has over 100 full time faculty on site and performs more than 800,000 imaging exams each year. We have a very active research program and provide strong support to foster academic growth and promotion. Salary Ranger: $150,000.00 $250,000.00. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
