Stanford University is seeking a Faculty Affairs Administrator 1 to work under supervision following defined procedures to provide administrative support focusing on transactions and processes for faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The successful candidate will provide high level support on all aspects of faculty affairs activities including onboarding, recruitment, faculty and academic staff appointments, reappointments, promotions and the search process. The successful candidate will be highly organized, resourceful, extremely detailed oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines.  S/he will be expected to demonstrate strong business judgement, professional etiquette and strong written communication skills.  In addition to having a positive attitude and professional demeanor s/he must have extraordinary communication skills that allow her / him to interact with a diverse group of people.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior academic affairs or similar translatable experience at Stanford or another institution.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to interpret and follow through on University policies related to Academic Affairs.
  • Expert writing and editing skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Must be extremely organized and self-motivated.
  • Adaptable to last minute and frequent changes.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Associate degree and one year of experience working with administrative processes, or combination of education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to track, monitor and adhere to deadlines. 
  • Ability to learn university systems.
  • Experience working with databases and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with complex schedules and planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety, shown through communication of safety concerns and use and promotion of safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, frequently sitting, stand/walk, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat; reach/work above shoulders;  grasp forcefully;  use a telephone.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, kneel/crawl, twist/bend/stoop/squat, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

This remote role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures . The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $25.00 to $41.35 per hour.
