A swimming pool technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper maintenance, functionality, and safety of swimming pools. The swimming pool technician is significant in our facilities team as they contribute to the longevity of the pool infrastructure, ensure compliance with regulations, and enhance the overall experience for the pool users. Their responsibilities encompass a range of tasks related to pool installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance

1. Technical Skills: Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding the mechanics of pool equipment, such as pumps, filters, heaters, and automation systems, is essential. Plumbing Skills: Knowledge of plumbing systems is crucial for installing and maintaining pool infrastructure. Electrical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic electrical components involved in pool equipment is important for troubleshooting and repairs.
2. Chemical Knowledge: Understanding water chemistry is vital for maintaining proper water balance, preventing bacterial growth, and ensuring a safe swimming environment.
3. Problem-Solving Skills: Pool technicians often encounter various issues, and the ability to identify and solve problems efficiently is essential for success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

May possess journeyman level certification. Requires apprentice level or other equivalent certification appropriate to the specific trade; with a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

Salary Information: CT1/Step 1 $24.36/hr.  (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule ).
