Position: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor (Elbert)

Location: Elbert Campus

Department: Elbert Campus Facilities

Reports to: Vice President of Economic Development and Elbert Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Encourage and facilitate cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; foster commitment and team spirit; work cooperatively with others to achieve goals.
  • Supervise building security including the opening and closing of buildings.
  • Supervise grounds maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to security alarms and other emergencies.
  • Ensure that the fire alarm and sprinkler systems and the fire extinguishers are inspected annually.
  • Ensure all safety systems are tested and operating properly.
  • Provide written monthly maintenance activity reports to the Facilities Director on the first of every month.
  • Supervise the maintenance and the security of all state vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained, gasses, and in proper operating condition.
  • Submit odometer readings to the Facilities Director on the first of every month.
  • Establish and maintain folders on every vehicle for the purpose of recording monthly odometer readings, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and receipts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years’ work experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of maintenance, repair, welding, HVAC, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, tools, equipment, materials, and facility repairs.
  • Working skill in diagnosing maintenance and repair problems.
  • Working ability to repair facilities mechanical equipment systems.
  • Read, interpret and apply construction plans, specifications and blueprints.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and the ability to lift, push, and carry heavy items
  • Must have valid Georgia driver's license or work permit.
