Position Summary
THIS POSTING IS FOR TWO IDENTICAL POSITIONS (POSITION NUMBERS:  20063792 AND 20063793).  BY APPLYING, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR BOTH AVAILABLE POSITIONS.  
The FABRIC project creates a national scale high performance programmable network testbed, providing an array of advanced programmable network features. Among them is Programming Protocol-independent Packet Processors (P4) which allows researchers to create innovative network solutions by flexible access and manipulation to packet contents in unprecedented ways. From an increasing number of FABRIC users, there is growing interest to incorporate P4 in their FABRIC experiments. In Summer 2024, FABRIC collaborates with researchers from the Argonne National Laboratory SciStream project and Clemson University to incorporate P4 into a number of ongoing experiments.
This internship position will work with the FABRIC team and collaborators to develop, deploy, and benchmark FABRIC experiments and services involving the use of P4. The intern will be mentored to learn about innovative networking research in a number of contexts and participate in collaborative ideation and creation of experiments that demonstrate how FABRIC enables novel research with its resources.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

- Graduate Student
- Experience in FABRIC experimentation
- Knowledge and experience in P4 application design, development and testing
- Effective and responsive team work in remote setting
