This position will be focused on research and education related to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in

Biomedical Informatics

. As a tenure track position within the department of Biomedical Informatics (

BMI

), faculty are responsible for obtaining extramurally funded research programs, teaching in our Undergraduate, Masters’ and PhD programs and mentoring post-doctoral fellows.

This position also includes management of our programming staff as well as teaching our Jupyter Notebook skills building workshop each summer, involving a diverse group of contributors from the University at Buffalo and around the nation. This individual will work directly with Dr. Peter Elkin on the Biomedical Informatics program.

Essential Functions:


  • AI / Machine Learning Research
  • Develop learning modules using Jupyter Notebooks
  • Develop methods for automated data driven recruitment of patients to clinical trials
  • Use social media to encourage trial participation
  • Project Management
  • Teaching in our undergraduate and graduate educational programs
