Primary support functions of EBOT include Personnel, Payroll, Accounting, Procurement, Invoicing, and Inventory.  EBOT values integrity and teamwork. The Operations Assistants complete work requests and provide front-line service for our faculty and staff.

The Operations Assistants are essential members that contribute to the success of EBOT.

The Business Operations Assistants may work remotely. While EBOT members are not stationed in a single location, we do connect daily working as a high functioning fully engaged team serving faculty and staff in every county across Washington State!

Summary of Duties:

The Extension Business Operations Assistant applies principles of fiscal and personnel management to assist in the review and processing of a variety of fiscal and administrative actions for Extension, which includes three academic units, several large programs, and multiple centers with faculty, staff, public affiliates, and volunteers that engage in diverse, multidisciplinary research and community service program activities in over 42 locations throughout the state.


Required Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or closely allied field and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher. Clerical or office work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner, and interact effectively with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong experience creating spreadsheets, formulas, and analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing data for reporting.

  • Experience in fiscal operations and record-keeping functions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a General Ledger accounting systems and familiarity with Workday.

  • Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures in the areas of personnel, finance, and administration.

  • Experience providing payroll, personnel, and recruiting support in higher education, local or state government, or similar environment.

Range 37, $2,929.00-$3,792.00 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
