Job Summary

The Caltech Library seeks an innovative and collaborative staff member to provide administrative, curatorial, and research support for an upcoming exhibition and accompanying catalogue on art, science, and visual culture at Caltech. The campus-wise exhibition is part of the Getty Foundation’s Pacific Standard Time: Art x Science x LA initiative and will open in the fall of 2024. The successful candidate will have some experience or formal training in the development and management of museum exhibitions.

The Exhibition Research Assistant functions as a member of the Archives and Special Collections department under the direction of the University Archivist.

This is a benefit-based, part-time position working 30 hours per week. Approximately half of this work may be done remotely.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide administrative support for Caltech’s PST exhibition.
  • Provide curatorial support for the exhibition.
  • Provide research support for the exhibition.

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in museum studies or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting museum exhibition development, planning, and execution.
