The Department of Executive Medicine is currently seeking a full time Exercise Physiologist 3 to work in Miami. The Exercise Physiologist 3 analyzes patients’ current medical state and fitness level in order to help them improve their health and reach fitness related goals and objectives. More specifically, this position uses evaluation tools to design a fitness plan that will meet the patient’s needs, including building endurance and strength and increasing flexibility.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Develops individualized exercise programs and prescriptions to meet patient needs and goals. Educate patients on proper use of exercise equipment, exercise technique, contraindications and precautions, medications, injury prevention, lifestyle and behavioral modification, as it relates to their health. Experience working with special populations, including but not limited to cardiovascular, metabolic, pulmonary, immunologic, orthopedic, hematological, and musculoskeletal disease. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure best patient outcomes: MD, RD, RN, and ARNP. Perform body composition assessments and interpret results. Evaluates the effectiveness of exercise programs. Provides patients with resources in order to ensure compliance and improve success rate. Data collection Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Partner with Dietician on developing and enhancing wellness programs
Must be willing to travel/float between sites

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Master’s preferred.
Certification and Licensing:
ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist. ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
