The Christensen Family Center for Innovation (CFCI) at Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering provides the resources and environment to help empower communities of innovation. With a foundation in design, we empower technology innovators to address authentic needs and create value for the innovator, their customers, and society. We offer access to methodologies, experiences, coaching, and experts to help founders reach their full potential or transition into technology-enabled products. We are committed to increasing and engaging with diverse talent to maximize opportunities and impact in technology innovation at Duke and North Carolina.

CFCI seeks an Executive in Residence to expand our program for promising technology-enabled innovations. They will be responsible for operating our co-development studio to advance promising projects on behalf of our founders, partners, and faculty. Establish milestones, and measurements to track the value of our services. Drive results using product management best practices and coordinating professional services and support. Join this fascinating intersection of technology, startups, and talent. 

Serve as a resource, instructor, and consultant to faculty, staff, and students in curricular and co-curricular programs. Collaborate and cultivate relationships with comparable universities to explore best practices for program development and partnership opportunities across the universities. Work closely with Duke’s venture ecosystem and technology transfer paths.

The candidate will launch and operate a technology studio within CFCI. Responsibilities include:

      Sourcing and vetting potential projects and partners based on the potential for impact and ability to accelerate adoption and commercialization

      Expanding the richness of innovators and technology dimensions that are supported by CFCI infrastructure

      Prioritization, selection, and structuring of ventures and technologies supported by the studio

      Connecting with the industry community to drive partnership and path to impact after working with the studio

      Explore new partnerships and revenue opportunities to fund center programs and operations.

This position requires a minimum of 8 years of technical program or product management in technology or engineering disciplines.
