The UW School of Social Work (SSW) has an outstanding opportunity for an Executive Director of the Alliance for Professional Development, Training, and Caregiver Excellence.
The Alliance for Professional Development, Training, and Caregiver Excellence brings together three of the state’s leading social work programs at the University of Washington, UW Tacoma, and Eastern Washington University, and collaborates with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and Partners for Our Children, a SSW research center, to support the professional development and advancement of a diverse child welfare workforce and the preparation of child welfare caregivers across the state.
The executive director has a rare opportunity to advance the success of professionals and foster and relative caregivers responsible for the safety and well-being of the approximately 9,000 children and youth who come in contact with the state’s child welfare system every year. Washington State’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families combines child welfare, early learning, and juvenile rehabilitation services, and the Alliance is poised to support workforce training across these areas.
Located at the UW School of Social Work, the executive director is responsible for the successful operation of professional development activities for DCYF employees, caregivers and other partners in the child welfare arena. The executive director works closely with all members of the Alliance staff and in consultation with the Executive Team (Leadership from Agency partners, Agency Tribal Policy Advisory Council, Alliance, SSW, and University partners) to ensure that the organization’s education, training, support, research and evaluation components are fully integrated and in alignment with strategic goals that support the mission to create the best possible outcomes for Washington’s children and families. The executive director reports to the dean of the UW School of Social Work or their designee.
