The Risk Institute is a center at the Fisher College of Business, an internationally-renowned business school. Correspondingly, according to its strategic plan, the vision of The Risk Institute is to be the preeminent resource on enterprise risk management.  For this purpose, the Institute has a stated mission to advance enterprise risk management through (1) cross-industry collaboration, (2) academic research, (3) thought leadership, and (4) talent development. The Risk Institute is in search of an Executive Director who can lead in the execution of its strategic plan by formulating appropriate action plans and setting well-defined metrics to measure success.  As a result, the Institute hopes to provide value to its sponsoring world-class member organizations and the Fisher College of Business in the following ways:

  • Convening fellow Chief Risk Officers and risk management professionals across the State of Ohio (and beyond) with advantages on a personal and professional basis to participants
  • Advancing thought leadership by collaborating on risk topics that cut across industries to create best in class enterprise risk management programs at our respective enterprises
  • Providing continuous training & learning programs for member companies to have access for the benefit of their enterprise employees
  • Providing access to world renowned research on relevant topics related to enterprise risk management and to benefits from collaboration among academics and member executives
  • Offering a partnership with a top-ranked business school --with a unique undergraduate enterprise risk management curriculum and insurance minor-- that brings together top tier Midwest- based organizations with a world class university
  • Creating access to top talent undergraduate and graduate students to create a pipeline of future risk management professionals for the members of The Risk Institute
  • Facilitating on-demand project & consulting work by undergraduate and graduate level students for ad hoc risk management projects for members

The Executive Director of The Risk Institute reports to the Dean of the Fisher College of Business.  Importantly, she also has the advantage of working intimately with the guidance and collaboration of an Academic Director from the faculty, the Chair of the Finance Department, and an Advisory Board consisting of representatives of sponsoring organizations.
