About Employee and Organizational Development The UT System Office of Employee and Organizational Development (EOD) embraces life-long learning and provides all employees with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Each year, EOD delivers a wide variety of facilitated workshops, seminars, and conferences for the benefit of UT faculty and staff. Additionally, EOD offers a growing number of self-paced eLearning courses at no cost to employees on a full spectrum of topics—making it convenient for employees to meet their development needs. About the Opportunity Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Executive Director is a member of the UT System Administration (UTSA) HR executive leadership team. The Executive Director provides vision, consulting, and guidance, and directs services for employee engagement, performance management, inclusive leadership, succession planning, learning, and organizational development for the benefit of UT employees statewide. The Executive Director works collaboratively with UT executive leaders across the System to address organizational development and performance needs. Additionally, the Executive Director guides and directs UT System efforts in the research, development of strategy, and delivery of innovative best workplace and workforce practices to provide inclusive opportunities that facilitate employee engagement, performance, learning, and well-being throughout the University of Tennessee. As the leader of EEOD, the Executive Director provides guidance and direction to team members including the Director, the Learning Manager, and the EEOD Generalist in support of visionary strategies to assist EEOD staff in serving the unique employee and organizational development needs of each UT campus and institute. Specific duties include of the Executive Director include, but are not limited to, the following: The Executive Director will support a culture of engagement and belonging by treating others with dignity and respect at all times, and is expected to contribute to the system-wide mission and fully embrace the University’s Be One UT Values.

Required Qualifications A master’s degree is required. A minimum of ten years of professional-level experience in learning, teaching, organizational development, or workforce development is required. Experience in program development, leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement preferably in higher education or a similar organizational structure is also required. The successful candidate must have demonstrated supervisory experience and the ability to successfully lead and motivate teams. The Executive Director must also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.
