Description of Work Unit | The College of Business at Colorado State University is seeking an Executive Director of Development. Who We Are Located in the beautiful town of Fort Collins, Colorado, CSU is a premier land-grant university with world-class programs in education, outreach, and research. CSU has a student body of 34,000 students, 7,000 employees, 200,000 living alumni, and annual research expenditures exceeding $350 million. Within CSU, the Division of University Advancement is integral to achieving and sustaining the University’s institutional excellence through fundraising and engagement efforts. With one of the leading development teams in the country, the Division most recently reached its $1 billion campaign goal 19 months ahead of schedule. The Office of Advancement in the College of Business builds and maintains relationships with alumni and friends to garner financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities that are integral to providing a world-class education and advance the College’s research, teaching, and artistry efforts. The development office works with the dean of the College of Business, faculty and staff, University Advancement, and various campus partners to lead, create, and implement successful development strategies that are a framework for future growth. The College of Business at Colorado State University is an AACSB accredited business school which enrolls more than 2,400 undergraduate students in six business concentrations and the business administration and real estate minors and is the largest undergraduate major on campus. In addition, the College enrolls approximately 1,000 students in five different MBA programs and three department-based graduate programs in the Master of Accountancy, the Master of Computer Information Systems, and the Master of Financial Risk Management. In addition to these academic departments, the College of Business is the home of the following centers and institutes: Beverage Business Institute, Entrepreneurship Institute, Veterinary Management institute, Supply Chain Management Forum, and the Centers for the Advancement of Sustainable Enterprise, Marketing and Social Issues, Professional Development and Business Research, and the Everitt Real Estate Center. |
Position Summary | The Executive Director of Development (EDoD) position is responsible for providing the vision and direction for a comprehensive team-oriented, college development and alumni relations program designed to increase financial support from alumni, friends, foundations and corporations for the College of Business’ programs and services and involve appropriate college faculty and staff in the process. The EDoD is a senior level development position responsible for securing funding for college and university priorities. These priorities are often multi-million dollar projects and may be interdisciplinary in scope. This position will be responsible for carrying a prospect portfolio of 75-100 donors and prospective donors. This position will train, direct and manage a dynamic College of Business development team, including an Associate Director of Development, an Assistant Director of Development, and a Donor Relations Coordinator. The EDoD reports to and is supervised by the CSU Vice President for University Advancement with a dotted reporting line to the College of Business Dean. The EDoD will infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of their work to contribute to ensuring donors of all backgrounds feel represented and included. They will also work to ensure an inclusive environment for their team and will continuously strive for inclusive excellence in their interactions and environments with internal and external constituents. |
