Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC) is located within the College of Medicine and is the only Regional Blood Center owned and operated by a University in United States.

 

The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is seeking an Executive Director of Business and Administration/CFO for Hoxworth Blood Center. This position will direct the financial and administrative activities including income generation and expense management and will function as the most senior-level financial and administrative officer. This includes tactical and strategic planning, fiscal management, annual budget development, personnel management, program development, and other administrative matters.


Essential Functions
  • Direct all business operations of HBC, including but not limited to, accounting, payroll, purchasing, budgets, asset management, contract negotiations, audits, etc., in collaboration with UC CoM Financial Services.
  • Direct the development of business plans for new and ongoing business ventures.
  • Participation and regular attendance on College of Medicine/UC Physicians committees and task forces and continuing education activities.
  • Direct the long-term strategic planning process of HBC to ensure financial health of the unit.
  • Ensure College of Medicine/UC Physicians senior management is well-informed on issues impacting the unit.
  • Direct the assignment of the existing space, development of new space, renovation of existing space and relocations to alternate space.
  • Support the compliance activities of the unit, including all research, regulatory compliance, clinical trials, billing, etc.
  • Support the marketing and public relations efforts of HBC.
  • Support the development efforts of the unit.
  • Support the enforcement of the corporate practice plan.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.


Required Experience

Seven (7) years of relevant work experience.


Additional Qualifications Considered

Master’s of Business Administration; Experience in a blood center, medical school, university, research organization and/or healthcare organization is desired.
