Summary of Position
Executive Director for Coordination of Student Crisis and Safety Intervention
The Executive Director for Coordination of Student Crisis and Safety Intervention will be responsible for the intersection of key decisions for the following PSU Teams: Title IX, Student Life and University Police Department, by leveragining their expertise to minimize the risk that occurs in situations that could evolve into a crisis level event for any given student. The position will help to create, implement and evaluate various procedures and protocols to address issues amongst the aforementioned teams. This position is responsible for providing and arranging support, training, and communication to promote improved collaboration across conduct, student life, police service and mental health, and to enhance efficacy and efficiency. This will include the planning and future instatement of a Crisis Co-Response model with appropriate University, Law enforcement and community resources involved to effectively aid in addressing mental health crises and ongoing quality of life social issues within the University and its local community, This position will also develop models that efficiently address problems and issues in this area including such things as peer counseling and mentoring. The position will work closely with UPD and assist with potential case or individual patient follow up for community services support, on an as needed basis. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other stakeholders to assure tenets are met, and nurture steering committee and community support for these endeavors. The position will spearhead collaboration from faculty and staff as selective expertise may be sought to ensure success with position endeavors in the various teams across campus.
Work is performed under general supervision of the Vice President of Finance and Administration and is guided by Plymouth State University policies and procedures, quality assurance, emergency mental health and diagnostic guidelines and professional practices, and including ethical standards related to client interactions, judicial directives, law enforcement policies and procedures, state and federal licensure and accreditation regulations and guidelines they are expected to perform duties as specified, and in conjunction and alignment with, the policies and procedures listed above.
This position does require work during the evenings, weekends and must be able available to report to work at any time. The position will be tasked with collaborating with other entities on campus to ensure appropriate coverage exists to respond to a crisis situation. Peak evenings and weekends work will occur in conjunction with PSU’s Academic Year calendar.

Other minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or other social service-related field and at least 2 years of related work experience within the public behavioral health or criminal justice system.
  • Clinical Licensure in good standing
  • Knowledge of laws and legal procedures relating to the emergency mental health system to include knowledge and familiarity with NH State Emergency Custody Order/ Temporary Detention Order issuance and process.
  • Familiarity with Issues affecting those with MH, SUD, DD/ID disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to represent and promote the program within the agency and the community.
  • ability to develop, prepare, and present training and educational materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain detailed records and prepare related reports.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of local treatment providers and other agencies in service to the community.
  • Knowledge of grant administration.
