Provides strategic and tactical direction to the Center for Student Life, which serves the entire student body (50,000+ students),and partners regularly with 50+ departments a year. Facilitates staff and other stakeholders in creating strategies, programs, and services that contribute to achieving Divisional priorities and goals, particularly related to community building and student development. Oversees the Center’s two primary areas of focus: first year and transition programs and student involvement as well as the development and implementation of related University-wide events and communications. Ensures the creation and delivery of equitable and accessible resources and services that support students in effectively navigating co-curricular opportunities and resources across the University with particular attention to the needs of underrepresented and/or marginalized student communities. Leads key programs and events that the Center offers to connect students to NYU. Provides direction and guidance to student and University stakeholders on legal and policy issues related to student governance, student activities, and student travel. Serves as a member of the Student Affairs incident response team. Advises student leaders and organizations. Directs hiring, on-boarding, and staff development activities to ensure a diverse and inclusive team. Determines all office-wide performance and measurement standards; deployment of human, physical, and budget resources; and development and evaluation of policies and procedures related to the programming, services, and communities served by the Center for Student Life. Collaborates with schools, the Provost's Office, and portal campuses.

Required Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferred Education:
Doctoral Degree in Higher Education or related discipline.
Required Experience:
10+ years of progressively responsible professional experience with programs and services that enhance student engagement. Must include experience with large-scale event planning; advising, development and implementation of programming for student-centered communities in complex university settings; and management of human, physical, and budget resources.
Preferred Experience:
Relevant experience in college student life environment working with targeted communities of students.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent communication and planning skills. Ability to interact with a large, diverse population of faculty, staff and students at every level. Knowledge of best practices in student engagement, programs and services. Demonstrated ability in marketing and promotions. Exceptional strength in writing.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of student development theory and higher education practice.
