Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor and Electronic Communications Specialist

The incumbent must possess a combination of education, experience, and demonstrated judgement to successfully support executive leadership in a dynamic environment; the ability to comprehend, apply and effectively communicate the organizations' strategic objectives through outstanding oral and written communication skills; and the ability to manage complex tasks, take initiative and remain flexible in a fast paced office setting. The incumbent must exhibit the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work-flow, strong interpersonal skills (poise, diplomacy, patience, and integrity); knowledge of academic and business protocol; excellent time management skills; and a commitment to accuracy and appreciation for detail.

To thrive in this role we are seeking candidates with excellent computer skills, demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, InDesign and a familiarity with website dashboards and processes. Knowledge and skills to analyze, evaluate and update websites for accessibility (WCAG), edit and create webpages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and CMS programs such as OUCampus or similar.

Work in an administrative setting for at least 3 years with demonstrated excellence in supporting executives or higher-level management is vital for success in this role. Experience in customer service, past history that demonstrates ability to work well with others, students, and individuals of diverse background. Experience designing web pages and developing and maintaining electronic information architecture.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of college coursework or equivalent in experience.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UA campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 79, starting at $27.06,based on education and experience.
