Description

 

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) the Office of the Senior Vice President seeks an Executive Assistant III to provide support to the Senior Vice President.  The role requires independent judgment and initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature.  A regular function of this position requires interaction with high level contacts inside and outside the institution.  Requires knowledge of organization policy and procedure.  May act as office manager.  The ideal candidate will display a prominent level of professionalism, a strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills.  


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Maintain the SVP calendar and meeting requests. 
  • Prepare all meeting materials for the SVP. 
  • Route items for SVP approval/signatures. 
  • Develop and maintain an organization system for the SVP’s documentation. 
  • Provide complex and confidential administrative support to the SVP, under minimal supervision. 
  • Exhibit independent judgement and initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature. 
  • May coordinate and perform special projects and assignments such as researching information, compiling reports, and summarizing incoming correspondence and publications. 

 


(Annual Salary:  $60,835 - $98,855) 


 

Qualifications

 Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Knowledge of medical terminology may be preferred in some areas. Training and certification in lean and six sigma methodologies may be required in some areas.
