The Executive Assistant II supports the efficient operations and professional image of the Office of Government Affairs in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) and must exercise considerable discretion and discriminating judgment in dealing with matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature. Plans, directs, and oversees administrative functions of the AVP's office ; provides executive level administrative support; assesses level of priority in determining urgency and oversees scheduling of all appointments and coordination of meetings and conferences for AVP's calendar; serves as preliminary contact for the AVP with high level officials such as members of the University and Medical Center Boards, government officials, community stakeholders and visiting dignitaries, University and Medical Center executives, Deans, faculty, students, patients, and members of the general public; assesses inquiries and concerns directed to AVP's office, determines course of action and delegates to appropriate person or unit to manage; performs public relations duties, including researching and responding to inquiries, furnishing information, drafting and developing appropriate responses, and tracking open items until completion; schedules and performs advance research and logistical work regarding special events, speaking engagements, and meetings involving the AVP; tracks work and progress against deadlines and ensuring time is appropriately managed to ensure advancement of the office; makes travel arrangements and processes reimbursement requests; greets and screens visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Two (2) year of relevant experience.
Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

Additional Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of university organization and procedures. Progressively responsible administrative experience is required.
