The Research Assistant will be involved research-related duties (e.g., participant recruitment, protocol design, data collection, qualitative analysis) and administrative duties (e.g., IRB applications, study material preparation, lab material preparation, translating study materials, and undergraduate training and supervision). Position Details: This is a part-time, 1-year appointment.

Required Education:

  • Appropriate Bachelor's or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage schedules
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • Have flexibility in scheduling to be able to visit families during weekends and after 5pm.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Psychology or related field
  • Experience with recruiting families and running participants in a lab or as a family visit
  • Experience with interviewing participants
  • Experience coding data qualitatively
  • Experience with qualtrics and Dedoose
  • Experience with conducting focus groups
  • Previous experience conducting research in social psychology, developmental psychology, or a related field

Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

  • CITI Training


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting families, other participants, and establishing relationships with local institutions and organizations
  • Data collection (e.g., protocol design, interviewing participants)
  • Administrative duties (e.g., IRB applications, study material preparation, lab material preparation, translating study materials, and undergraduate training and supervision)
  • Data analysis & write up (e.g., literature review, qualitative analysis); perform other duties as assigned
