Advertised Job Summary | Executive Assistant to the AVP for Finance · Do you have executive level administrative experience and thrive in a fast-paced environment? · Are you a self-starter with excellent communication skills? · Do you enjoy “making it all happen” and anticipating other people’s needs before they do? · Do you have the ability to connect and build rapport quickly? Minimum Qualifications | Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience operating within a large university. Knowledge of or ability to learn University of South Carolina policies, procedures, and administrative systems (Peoplesoft Finance, HCM, PeopleAdmin, and Maxient). |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Effective interpersonal, customer relations, and communication skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment. Ability to thrive in both independent and team-oriented work environments. Ability to handle sensitive employee and student information. Considerable computer mastery with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and other software programs. Demonstrated strong analytical skills and have the capacity to learn web-based university systems, and interpret and implement policies and procedures. Ability to establish and sustain a positive working relationship with staff, co-workers, administrators, and campus partners. Ability to prepare reports and presentations. |
Job Duties
Job Duty | Serve as office manager and administrative coordinator for the AVP for Finance. Schedule meetings, manage calendar, coordinate training sessions or events, create presentations, purchase office supplies, process procurement and reimbursement transactions, and arrange travel for the AVP and leadership. Administrative support duties include welcome reception, preparing correspondence, answering calls, and reviewing paperwork submitted by the supported departments to ensure that it is complete and accurate. |
