Position Description

Bloomsburg University's Department of Exceptionality Programs, Special Education Program, seeks applicants for temporary faculty positions (full-time one semester, part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise. The Department of Exceptionality Programs has the following graduate degree programs: M.Ed. in Special Education with certification, M.S. in Special Education, and Special Education Supervisory Program.


Examples of Duties

Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach courses from the required subfield of Master’s level Special Education and/or Special Education Supervisory.
Course(s) may include: SPECED 501, Administration & Supervision in Special Education, SPECED 503, Curricular Design for Inclusive Education


Qualifying Experience / Education

Minimum Requirements 

  • Current or past special education supervisory experience
  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or a Related Field
  • Experience teaching college-level courses
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Evidence of scholarly activity
  • Ph.D. in Special Education or related field

Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time department faculty.
