Do you have the skills and experience to conduct comprehensive literature reviews and support evidence synthesis projects? Do you thrive in a team-based environment? If so, you might be the perfect fit for Texas A&M University’s Evidence Review & Synthesis Librarian position at the Medical Sciences Library.The Evidence Review & Synthesis Librarian will be responsible for conducting structured review and evidence synthesis (review) services for the Medical Sciences Library (MSL). This Librarian will serve as the main point of contact for review services and provide expertise and instruction in the areas of structured reviews, evidence syntheses, and scholarly dissemination. Additional responsibilities will include providing reference and instruction consultations and mediated searches.
This position can optionally work in a hybrid arrangement. If working from home, then you would need to live within commuting distance of one of our staffed locations (Bryan / College Station, Houston, or Round Rock). The position will connect with colleagues in-person at campus locations regularly as needed. The University Libraries will provide the necessary equipment and supplies needed to support the alternate work location arrangement. Employees working from home must maintain adequate access to Wi-Fi and workspace.
Opportunities to Contribute:
As part of the reviews team, develop, run, and retain reproducible searches and data associated with reviews and assist with reference and instruction consultations and mediated searches
Collaborates with University Library colleagues, Texas A&M Health, the School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, and clinical affiliates to enhance library partnerships and contribute to the education, research, and clinical missions
Provide expertise in, and assist with, assessment of and recommendations regarding, collection, resource development, the integration of new tools and technologies
Participate in professional organizations and scholarly activities to incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services and programs
Maintain knowledge of library technology applications, resources, copyright, systematic reviews, and other issues/trends
Collaborate with colleagues in facilitating virtual and/or hybrid instructional sessions at remote locations and other projects
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Library Science
Five years of related experience in a public, academic, or specialized library or archive
A well-qualified candidate will also possess:
Master’s degree from American Library Association (ALA) accredited program
Membership in the Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP)
Evidence of professional development or continued education in data science, health information, and/or evidence-based practice
A publishing record that includes systematic and/or scoping reviews and other research outputs
Experience with software supporting systematic reviews (e.g., Covidence, DistillerSR, Rayyan)
Proficiency with at least one reference management tool (e.g., EndNote, Zotero, Refworks)
Ability to communicate effectively with various client groups
Training, coursework, or continuing education/professional development with evidence synthesis search methods, protocols, guidelines, and standards for conducting and reporting evidence projects
Advanced literature searching skills, including search strategy development, database translation, and reporting reproducible searches
Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Starting Salary: $72,335.00 annually
