Red Butte Garden is currently accepting applications for our Concert Production Team!
The Red Butte Garden Concert Series Production Supervisor, ensures smooth operation of the concert production team as it relates to: tour advances, rider requirements, runner/day of show schedules, dressing room assignments, and is the key point of contact for all hospitality needs.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a staff of 15-20 Concert Crew members, including training and scheduling
  • Work with Production Assistants, Tour Managers, Catering Teams, and Garden Concert Staff to help facilitate stage tech, and artist rider/hospitality advances
  • Partner with local backstage catering to ensure the Artists rider requirements are met and the culinary experience exceeds the Artist’s and touring personnel’s expectations  
  • Reserve fleet vehicles with motor pool and ensure pickup in advance for use by production assistants 
  • Ensure a clean and organized backstage area prepared for tour arrival; ensure team is cleaning after tour departure, i.e., removing trash, collecting or replacing linens etc.
  • Create a Day of Show (DOS) schedule for each concert and distribute in advance
  • Welcome touring parties upon arrival
  • Communicate with Tour Manager to determine applicable backstage budget; Tour Manager/Artist needs; Ensure receipts are managed accordingly
  • Verify set up each of each dressing room in accordance with tour rider
  • Verify catering is setup and running on schedule (breakfast / lunch / dinner /after-show)
  • Provide stage towels to Tour Manager and ensure showers are setup
  • Manage Laundry – wash, dry, and fold hand and bath towels.  
  • Responsible for checking dressing rooms periodically throughout the day to tidy up
  • Pre and post-show walk-through with checklist to prepare back stage area, i.e., Artist & Touring crew space; notate any damage to be repaired
  • Manage post-show food, as required by Tour Manager; Ensure pick-up and delivery of rider needs, bus stock, and additional hospitality requirements
  • Perform opening, running, and closing side duties, i.e., shopping, cleaning, backstage inventory, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 3 years of progressively more responsible events coordination experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. A related field may include but is not limited to: Business, Communications, Hotel / Hospitality Management, Sports Management and Public Relations.
Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and supervising employees and processes.

Department-Specific Qualifications
  • 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and ability to drive a mini-van and transport passengers, supplies, etc.
Preferences
  • Exceptional knowledge of food, beverage, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Must have a knowledge of the region to properly identify local restaurants, stores, area attractions, etc.
  • Must be available to work hourly completing advance work and commit to work all 30 shows during the season
  • Essential to maintain composure around high profile artists/guests and work in an often-hectic and loud environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience finding creative solutions in conjunction with touring parties, local vendors, and garden team members
  • Position requires physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying equipment; must be able to lift 30 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
  • 2-3 years+ of backstage/production/hospitality experience
  • 3 years+ of work experience in a comparable role
