Events Management Specialist

Schedules indoor reservations entailing space allocations and outdoor spaces for a majority of campus. Provides logistical consultation for events including room setups, AV equipment and sound systems. Collaborates with University Dining Services regarding food service needs. Supervises event activities staff; writes proposals; determines budgets; sets timelines; works with internal and external vendors; ensures displays are set up; designs and lays out various art work and documents.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelors degree preferred in public relations, events management, or communications; supplemented with 2 years of related experience.
2-4 years office and/or administrative support work.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to multi-task.
Knowledge of event planning, reservations, etc. preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Layout and design skills
Project management skills
Negotiation skills
Interpersonal/human relations skills
Ability to initiate and maintain professional relationships
Ability to organize time, projects, and details
Ability to type and operate personal computer
Ability to prepare financial reports
