Description of Work
The Nebraska Local Technical Assistance Program (NE LTAP) provides training to meet the needs of township, city, village, county and state, and transportation professionals, consultants, and technicians. NE LTAP offers a wide range of workshops and online certification courses that are designed specifically to improve performance, build technical skills, and contribute to professional development in the field of transportation.
As the Events Coordinator, you will:
  • Provide direct assistance to the NE LTAP Director in the planning, organizing, administering and monitoring of the day-to-day operations of the Nebraska Local Technical Assistance Program.
  • Work closely with the Director on continuous financial monitoring, reporting, and budgeting efforts.
  • Serve as the primary training class/event coordinator, with assistance from other LTAP staff, for all courses and programs taught or facilitated by NE LTAP. This includes responsibility for negotiating and signing contracts for trainers, facilities, caterers, and vendors; and all aspects of event logistical and operational planning.
  • Enter training events into our learning management system (LMS), monitor online registrations, and maintain training records.
  • Arrange, review, and process travel arrangements for NE LTAP staff.
  • Process claims, disbursements, and invoices.
  • Provide back-up to answer phones, monitor email, and greet walk-in guests to our office.
  • Act as a liaison to LTAP partners, including many university, government, and private organizations.
  • Be one of LTAPs vital customer service links to state and local public agency employees.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years demonstrated experience with customer service and event coordination OR any combination of year for year experience will substitute for a degree.
  • Working knowledge of general office practices and office equipment.
  • General computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation.
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational and communications skills, and ability to multi-task and work independently within established procedures.
  • All applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a DMV background check authorizing them to operate university vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Database knowledge and web editing a plus.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new computer technology.
