Summary

You will initiate the event planning process and communicate progress between event sponsors and the Office of University and Development Events (UDE) team, throughout the planning of institution-wide ceremonial, presidential, and development events.  You will receive direction from the Assistant Director, and will partner with colleagues to produce impactful events in a complex but fun, work environment.

    Responsibilities*

    Relationship Management (75%), Event Logistics Management (15%), and Education and Special Initiatives (10%):


    Some responsibilities include:

    • Manage a portfolio of events and event sponsors.
    • Lead our event intake meetings with UDE team colleagues and event sponsor(s).
    • Analyze historical data to make recommendations for best practices to achieve our event goals.
    • Suggest event dates that align with our team resources and sponsor/host preferences.
    • Provide support to sponsors as they explore ideas for new events by determining feasibility and appropriate event aims.
    • Develop relationships with our partners to help them feel connected to the planning process and overall event experience. 
    • Be a liaison to donors hosting events on behalf of the university.
    • Ensure high-level event execution inside donor hosts' personal homes, restaurants, and clubs.
    • Participate in and/or lead special departmental projects.
    • Provide consultation to University schools, colleges, and units.

    Required Qualifications*
    • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2+ years demonstrated event industry experience.
    • Experience in office operations and organizational support.
    • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
    • Solid knowledge and experience using Google Drive platform.

    Note:

    • Overtime necessary to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Travel may be required and may occur any time of the year, including holidays.
