Description of Work Unit
The CSU College of Health and Human Sciences is comprised of 8 academic units: The Departments of Construction Management, Design and Merchandising, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Health and Exercise Science, Human Development and Family Studies, and Occupational Therapy, and the Schools of Education and Social Work. Total undergraduate and graduate enrollment is over 5,000 students, with 125 tenure-track and 60 full-time contract, continuing, and adjunct faculty members. Several of the College’s academic programs are nationally recognized or ranked. The College includes two of the university’s largest majors, and three of the university’s best majors for job placement. The College of Health and Human Sciences houses 20 different Institutes, Centers, Special Units, and Extension offices, designed to provide a broad range of research and outreach activities that support social, economic and community development in Colorado, the nation, and the world.

Position Summary
The CSU College of Health and Human Sciences Dean’s Office is seeking a dynamic individual with a passion for event planning, logistics, and project management for a non-student hourly position. This is a hands-on, real-world opportunity to engage alumni, donors, students, staff, and community members with high-profile events.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Working with the Communications and Development Teams, and in coordination with the Dean and Dean’s Assistant, schedule, plan, and implement a variety of events for the College. Events may range from small executive business meetings to large events such as football tailgates and commencement.
2. Collaborate to ensure appropriate audiences are identified and invited to events.
3. Collaborate with communications team to ensure all event communications meet college and university brand standards, and are shared with the appropriate audiences via web, email, social media, and other channels as appropriate.
4. Support event project management and logistics including scheduling, venue, food and beverage, internal and external communications, vendor contracts, A/V, guest relations (registration, nametags, seating), volunteers, student involvement, etc.
5. Track event outcomes, attendee feedback, and notes for future planning.
Position Minimum Qualifications
  • Event planning knowledge
  • Project management experience, including handling multiple, short deadlines at a time
  • Excellent communications and customer service skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, project management, or related field
  • Professional experience with event planning
  • Familiarity with office software: Microsoft Office, Teams
  • Familiarity with web site tools such as WordPress, graphic design software such as Adobe CC Suite, or similar programs
