The School of Risk Management and Insurance (SRMI) is a high active office. We have multiple events per semester.   We are looking for a team member to help organize the events for the CSUF students.  We market the SRMI classes to the CSUF students, the events are for the students to know what RMI is and how it would apply to the student as a career.  
 
The Event Consultant position will work 5-15 hours per week.


Essential Duties

  • Answer incoming and make outgoing calls.
  • Create and maintain reports in a timely manner.
  • Generate business correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Data entry – update data base.
  • General office maintenance.
  • Help the Office Manager promote events on social media sites.
  • Work on creating flyers, brochures, or booklets for the events.
  • Train new team members to the SRMI standards to work an event. 
  • Supervise the team’s work schedules and guide team to achieve the high level that has been set for SRMI.
  • Work with our vendors and prepare and oversee the making of promotional items for events.
  • Keep detailed records of events to help with future events. 
  • Prep for the next events by following the SRMI guidelines. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of administrative experience, preferred.
  • Computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with G Suite apps such as Gmail, Google Sheets and Google Docs.
  • Forward thinking problem-solver who is flexible and adaptive to challenging situations but welcoming of the learning opportunity.
  • Self-motivated and independent worker who takes initiative and seeks out ways to continuously evolve and improve.
  • Enthusiastic and positive team member, looking to bring out the best in every situation and everyone.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial, grounded in integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Team player and builder who leads by example and works at the highest level but who also takes ownership for mistakes and missed opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to navigate multiple projects with concurrent deadlines.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be resourceful and able to problem solve.
  • Have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain timely follow-up on projects.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work with little supervision and work with a team. 
  • Good work ethic.
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree. 



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting of up to 25lbs.; periodic bending; long-term periods of sitting; long term periods operating a computer.
