Job Summary:

The Hispanic Center in Becton College of Arts and Sciences at Fairleigh Dickinson University is accepting applications for a non-tenure track, full-time position with an October start date. This position is a twelve-month, renewable appointment as a Lecturer.
Fairleigh Dickinson, founded in 1942 is a private, coeducational university with an enrollment of more than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students from throughout the United States and the world. The Metropolitan Campus is located 10 miles from the heart of New York City, and the College of Florham Campus is located 35 miles from New York City near historic Morristown, New Jersey. The University has overseas campuses in Wroxton, England and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should at minimum have a master’s degree in ESL or a related discipline, combined with professional experience. This position will have oversight for the ESL curriculum for bi-lingual Spanish/English students in the Puerta al Futuro, Hacer, and Avanza programs and will teach ESL and Academic Writing as needed. The teaching load will be three to six hours per semester. Successful applicants will also be expected to engage in a variety of service related activities intended to qualify the candidate as participating faculty in the College and the Hispanic Center. The responsibilities of program coordinator include student engagement as well as related activities as determined by the Director of Academic Hispanic Programs. Salary and benefits are competitive with accredited institutions. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
