| Job Summary/Responsibilities | The English Language Program (ELP), located on the campus of the University of North Florida, is a university-based intensive English program for international students. The central task of ELP instructors is to provide quality English language instruction to our students in different subject areas (reading/writing, listening/speaking, vocabulary, and grammar) and at different levels (beginning to advanced). This is a part-time ELP position classified as OPS (Other Personnel Services). Part-time instructors have an essential role in the program and perform the following functions. • Prepare, teach, and evaluate class • Advise students • Attend faculty meetings • Coordinate instruction with others within levels • Develop materials and assessment tools • Perform exit testing |
| Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s Degree in English education or a related field (for example Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, etc.). Plus experience teaching English as a second language in higher education and/or experience in teaching abroad. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Master’s Degree in TESOL or a related field (for example Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, English, etc.). |
