Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and eight years of related experience.  Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.  Grade EH Salary Commensurate with experience. 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with supporting ERP financial systems including day to day operations, implementation of new functionality, and special projects.
  • Experience with implementing and upgrading ERP financial systems.
  • Experience with interfaces to both on-premises and cloud systems.
  • Analytical experience with one of more Financials modules (e.g.  Billing, GL, etc) 
  • Experience with Peoplesoft Financials 9.2 is desirable.
  • Experience with gathering requirements from business users
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with query tools and development of ad hoc reports.
  • Experience with creating test plans, documentation, and training material.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills 
  • interest to learn Workday Financials
  • Self-Starter with Ability to be successful in a fully remote working environment
Position Description

Serve as a lead subject matter expert associated with financial business processes and procedures associated with ERP Financial systems.  Analyze, monitor, and manage any and all integrated functions that may affect financial resources directly or indirectly.  Provide support for daily operations.  Plan, direct and coordinate technical support for the automation of all business processes in the university wide Enterprise Financial system.  Collaborate with programmers, consultants, IT project managers, other functional leads, departmental users, and provides support to the Project Manager.  Support third party systems and coordinate data input to insure data integrity.  Document business processes and implementation of new functionality, and provide training materials.  Develop queries for ad hoc reporting or production support.  Create and coordinate test cases to validate that the system is operating correctly and troubleshoot areas that are not performing as expected.   Troubleshoot problems and system failures, documenting appropriate paperwork to either internal or external sources to find acceptable solutions.   Use analytical skills to make business decisions and to view business outcomes as the goal without being tied to established processes and procedures. As a lead, will work with other analysts and consultants on projects to assure their completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as liaison between functional owners, information technology, and the ERP Financial system support team.  Collaborates with project managers to develop project tasks, manage scope and risks, secure appropriate resources, and ensure timely project development and completion.
  • Coordinates with business units to identify business needs through interviews, document and data analysis, surveys, site visits, reviews of business process descriptions, task and workflow analysis, and/or requirements gathering sessions. Uses gathered requirements and system documentation to design projects with detailed written project specifications.  Prepares, reviews, and approves detailed systems documentation.
  • Reengineers processes by leveraging best practices and innovative technology.
  • Identifies potential process improvements through data analysis that identifies inefficiencies, redundancy, and unleveraged system functionality.  Reengineers processes by leveraging best practices and innovative technology.
  • Collaborates with project managers to develop project tasks, manage scope and risks, secure appropriate resources, and ensure timely project development and completion.
  • Coordinates the testing of maintenance and new functionality with business units; creates and reviews testing protocols.
  • Assists in preparing project summaries to assist governance groups with prioritization.
  • Collaborates with business intelligence staff to ensure that reporting needs are included in system design and assists with the development and review of new reports and dashboards.
  • Designs systems that satisfy data security standards and ensure appropriate checks and balances.

Reviews, vets, and approves requests for customizations. Acts as lead for projects that require multiple analysts. May supervise small groups of analysts.
