About the Opportunity

Summary:

Reporting to the Head Equipment Manager, the Equipment Manager will coordinate the athletic equipment area including equipment purchasing, receiving, fitting, disbursement, cleaning and maintenance. The position will develop and maintain relationships with equipment and apparel vendors pertaining to assigned programs. Extensive interaction with coaches, student-athletes and staff is also required of this position. Primary sport responsibilities will be men's hockey, field hockey, and ESports, as well as other varsity sports as assigned. The position supervises some student workers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required; 5 years of athletic equipment management experience required, with 2-3 years of hockey equipment management experience; strong organizational, time management and communication skills required; knowledge of NCAA rules preferred. Must be proficient in skate sharpening and hockey-specific repair.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate the athletic equipment area including equipment purchasing, receiving, fitting, disbursement, cleaning and maintenance.
  • Work closely with equipment and apparel vendors pertaining to assigned programs.
  • Assign the following to student workers; daily practice and game laundry; organize inventory system with coaches; maintain equipment, apparel and locker rooms.
  • Ensure that the equipment area is within budget and operating efficiently.
  • Organize daily practice and game laundry; organize inventory system with coaches; maintain equipment, apparel and locker rooms. Work with coaches to organize equipment and apparel for away from home competitions.
