Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
 The Equipment Manager will assist with the annual procurement of athletics apparel, equipment, and footwear. Participates in activities related to the purchase, storage, issuance and return and the repair of athletic equipment, clothing, and uniforms for primarily football and other sports, as assigned.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
  • Manages the procurement and distribution of all equipment materials for primarily football student-athletes, staff and other sports, as assigned. 
  • Assists in maintaining a computerized inventory control for all equipment room stock.
  • Maintains athletes’ property records in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Works directly with the official supplier of Under Armour athletics apparel and equipment to Lamar University Athletics.
  • Assists in organizing and executing setup and breakdown for Lamar University Athletics competitions and practices.
  • Maintains laundry service for student-athletes and staff following practices and competition.
  • Collects and cleans soiled clothing items.
  • Assists in the receipt of all department packages and coordinates drop off times with several parcel services.
  • Manages local delivery and pick-up of product for the purpose of embellishment and repairs of team and department products.
  • Manages student workers.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to continuously interact with public (internal or external). Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel, twist, lift (0-50 lbs), and carry (0-50 lbs) frequently. Ability to climb, carry (50+ lbs) and lift (50+ lbs) occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years relevant experience managing athletic equipment as outlined in the essential job functions.
