Position Summary
Creates and validates training programs that support and promote the provision of a superior patient experience for patients and their families. Develops specific requirements and content for training and education on the Epic EMR system for all assigned modules. Responsible for coordinating the Specialist Training Specialist program, leading the Credentialed Trainers, and providing team building for Epic Training team. May facilitate or work closely with certified trainers on classroom presentation of training programs.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under general guidance, designs, develops and implements the end user training program for their assigned module(s) that meets the needs of adult learners.
  • Participates in workflow design, system build and system enhancement working sessions to gain in-depth knowledge of system functionality and training needs. Partners closer with Epic Application Analyst of assigned modules.
  • Creates and maintains documentation and all course materials for application specific and role based education. Modifies and updates both training program and materials based on feedback and training needs.
  • Works with credentialed trainers to ensure optimum training content and experience during end user training. May at times be required to facilitate classroom training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.
  • Effective abilities in formal training and related experience.
  • Epic experience and certification preferred.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present and provide classroom, group and/or one-on-one training.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail ability.
  • Demonstrated effective Microsoft office suite skills including PowerPoint.
  • Operational subject matter experts as well as technical subject matter experts will be considered.
  • Ability to understand written and verbally communicate clearly.
  • Ability to share knowledge with others on the team in a professional manner.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with two to five years of related experience.
  • REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Epic Certification required or to be completed within six months of hire.
  • Travel for Epic training away from St. Louis, MO required within three months of hire.

Salary Range
$53,900.00 - $92,200.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
