Epic Analyst Trainee in Revenue Cycle (Paid Internship / Seasonal Hire)

UTHealth Houston is looking for a part-time entry-level person to work with our Clinical IT department in our Epic Revenue Cycle area. You will be focused on aiding the Health Information Management team. This employee works with program management professionals in support of the Office of the CMIO to implement the top-tier healthcare Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, EPIC. Participates in EMR projects across clinical technology and learns best practice IT skills.  

 

This will be a part-time position that is paid hourly. It will be classified as Seasonal and will only work on the project for five or six months. It is designed to allow a candidate to learn about Epic and assist our team in the process.  

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

1.    Assists in training curriculum technology solutions and building course catalogs that will be available to our clinicians and end-users
2.    Assists in testing of the EPIC EMR system.
3.    Assists in planning and executing roadshows and engagement events to prepare end-users for the new system. 
4.    Assists with coordinating with internal resources and third parties/vendors for on-time completion of deliverables.
5.    Assists with ongoing support to users/clients to resolve problems.
6.    Performs other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:

A dependable, self-motivated, and energetic team member who wants to learn, is great at troubleshooting, has an affinity for training and technology, and enjoys a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented, able to work under tight time frames, multi-task, prioritize, and complete duties in a timely manner. Good reasoning capabilities.
  

Minimum Education:

A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in information systems or healthcare administration. May substitute required education with equivalent years of additional experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

 

Minimum Experience:

No experience is required, but prefer candidates who have some experience working with Epic Software to some degree. 

 

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
